We are a Christian community of faith earnestly seeking to be transformed by the presence and the teachings of Jesus Christ. We strive to be authentic and caring – always growing in our relationship with Jesus and with each other. We invite you to experience God’s love and grace through our worship services, grow in your faith through Bible studies, connect with others in Christ-centered activities, and join us in being the good news for the sake of others.
Our congregation has been located in Kirkwood, Missouri since 1974 and in our present building across from Kirkwood Park since 1982 . We are a part of the Evangelical Covenant Church, a growing denomination with over 850 churches in the U.S. and Canada and missionaries throughout the world.
We are a faith community learning to live in the way of Jesus.
As members of the Evangelical Covenant Church we profess personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. We affirm the Bible as the authoritative Word of God and the only perfect rule for faith, doctrine and conduct. Membership is open to all believers.
Additionally, the ECC has articulated the following six affirmations:
- We affirm the centrality of the Word of God
- We affirm the necessity of the new birth
- We affirm a commitment to the whole mission of the church
- We affirm the church as a fellowship of believers
- We affirm a conscious dependence on the Holy Spirit
- We affirm the reality of freedom in Christ
You can read more about these affirmations and learn more about our denomination at: www.covchurch.org
Rev. Chad Wible has served in a pastoral role since 2006, previously serving three other congregations. He grew up in the church, made a profession of faith at age nine and was baptized later that year by his grandfather, a Baptist pastor. In the church, Chad found a solid foundation and a loving, nurturing family. His calling is to serve the people of the church in a way that will help them go deeper in faith and further in living out God’s kingdom ways.
In his younger days, Chad played a lot of soccer. After high school, he played soccer at Colorado Christian University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems. Chad put these technical skills to work as an employee of a Fortune 50 company for nearly five years before entering seminary for graduate study.
Chad earned his Master of Divinity degree in 2005 from Denver Seminary, where he met Allison. Allison is also ordained in the ECC and works as a chaplain in two St. Louis hospitals.
When he’s not driving his kids to extracurricular activities, Chad enjoys reading. Among his favorite authors are C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, David McCullough, N.T. Wright, and Scot McKnight. For recreation, Chad enjoys hiking and camping and he is an avid baseball fan. He has also been a youth soccer coach for 15 years including four years as a high school varsity coach.
