Tom Morgan

Chairman

Tom started attending Community Covenant Church in 2000. He was born in Syracuse, New York and he and his wife, Dianne, have lived in Iowa, Wyoming, and Missouri. Tom received his bachelors from Midwestern College and his masters and Ph.D. from the University of Iowa. He recently retired as a public school administrator after serving for 36 years. He has two married children, Todd and Tara, and two grandchildren, Grace and Callahan. He places high value on his faith, family, health, positive attitude and serving others. He believes Community Covenant Church offers a great way for individuals and families to learn and build a closer relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I am originally from Westbrook, Maine and left there to join the Air Force after my first year of college. I served twenty years as an Arabic Linguist and retired in 1997. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland and a Master of Divinity from Covenant Theological Seminary. I am currently licensed in the Covenant working toward ordination in 2012. I work part-time as an On-call chaplain at St Louis University Hospital. I am married to John who is from St Louis and we have three children: Samuel, Maureen, and William. We have been at Community Covenant Church for a year and a half. We love the preaching, teaching, fellowship, and just the loving and caring nature of this congregation. I am a member of the Comfort Ministry and it is such a pleasure to meet weekly with this amazing group that prays together, offers fellowship, teaches, and makes amazing items to give to others. For me, my ministry is led by Jesus’ question, “Who is my neighbor” in Luke 10:25-37. As we follow God’s command to “love your neighbor as yourself” (Leviticus 18:29) we need to look around and see how we can love our neighbors where ever they may be. In my personal walk with Christ, I am led by the words of Lamentations 3:22-23 “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness”. As a parent of a severely disabled child, I have experienced that faithfulness on a daily basis and I try to communicate that God’s promise of faithfulness is real and sustaining. Hebrews 10:23 tells us “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful”.

Jolena Mayfield

I was born and raised in Sullivan, MO, and I’ve lived in Missouri my whole life. I have a bachelor of science and a master of arts degree in Mathematics from Missouri Southern State University and Saint Louis University, respectively. I am currently a stay-at-home-mom to my 3-year-old daughter. Besides spending time with my husband and daughter, I enjoy knitting, crocheting, sewing, reading, and singing. A friend at grad school invited me to Community Covenant Church. I fell in love with the accepting, family atmosphere and the love of God shown to me. I received Christ and later became a member of CCC. The service I do at CCC is to the honor and glory of God– for the support, growth, and spiritual maturity of our Church body (Eph 4:11-13), for the accomplishment of church administration (1 Corinthians 12:27-28), and because I live to serve Jesus Christ my Lord who has mercifully saved and equipped me (1 Timothy 1:12-17).
