covenant-crafters-no-words

COMMUNITY COVENANT COMFORT MINISTRY began in early 2007 when a few fellow needle-crafters decided to meet once a week for an evening of fellowship while working on their individual craft projects.  As the group progressed, they decided to knit sweaters for the ‘Guideposts for Kids’ charity.  As the group began to expand, we decided to combine our diversified talents (“Common Threads”) to knit and crochet individual blocks to join together to become a “prayer blanket” for the seriously ill unborn granddaughter of one of our members.  The blessings we received and the fellowship we found while working together on this project convinced us that this is our ministry – creating ‘comfort’ items such as shawls, lapghans, afghans, baby blankets, wraps, tec. as tangible evidence of Christian love and prayers for those who are in need of peace, healing, strength, hope or simply the assurance that we are not alone.  We chose the heart (and incorporate one into each project) as our symbol that Christ’s love for us, and our love for others is at the ‘heart’ of this ministry.

If you, or someone you know, can benefit from our ministry, please let us know!  Call 314-966-5853, email church@ccc-stl.org. or fill out a card and put it in the Prayer Jar in the Narthex.

COME JOIN US! We meet from 5:30-8:30 pm on Wednesdays in Fellowship Hall. This comfort ministry group knits, crochets, sews, and crafts various items to donate to people in need as reminders of Christ’s love and care for them.
