Stephen A. Tousseau – Pastor – Community Covenant Church
I accepted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord when I was 13. At the age of 17, while reading my Bible, God spoke to me through the book of Romans, calling me to be a pastor and to preach His Word.
The journey to the pastorate began with 4 years in the U.S. Navy, including a tour in Viet Nam. Upon completion of military duty I was able to begin my formal education, with the help of the G.I. Bill. I received a B.A. in Biblical Studies at Biola University. Moving my family to Oregon, I served for 3 years as a youth pastor at Powell Valley Covenant Church and took classes at Western Baptist Seminary in Portland. Finally, we moved to Chicago where I completed my studies and received a Master of Divinity degree from North Park Theological Seminary in 1985. Since then, I have served as senior pastor of 3 churches- 2 in Illinois and 1 in Missouri.
I was called in 1993 to serve at Community Covenant Church of Kirkwood, MO. The people of this church are wonderful and filled with the grace of God! I am constantly grateful and amazed at how God works through me and this church to build His Kingdom and share the good news of Jesus Christ.
My wife, Pam, and I along with our 4 grown children (6 grandchildren) are a blended family. Three are married and living in other states (Illinois, North Carolina, Kentucky), and one is across the state in Joplin, MO. We are enjoying the empty nest, but love to travel and visit our children as often as we can. By the grace of God we are proud to say that all four of our children and their spouses are walking with the Lord and active in their local churches.
My wife and I love to travel, experience new places and foods, and have fun adventures together. (I will never forget the time Pam talked me into snow skiing for the first time – after the age of 50!) For the most part, I enjoy the beach, hiking and most sports. I miss my mom’s authentic Mexican dishes, but have to say that my wife has come a long way in meeting this need in my life since learning the family’s secret recipes.
