Meet Our Council

Community Covenant Church is led by a council of five members who are nominated by and voted on by the congregation.  Our council is deeply involved with supporting the ministries of our church and taking care of the day to day business of the church.  Council members serve in their positions for a term of two years.  Our council is comprised of a Chairman, Vice-Chairman,  Secretary, Treasurer, and Financial Secretary.

Our current council members are:

Secretary – Jolena Mayfield

I was born and raised in Sullivan, MO, and I’ve lived in Missouri my whole life. I have a bachelor of science and a master of arts degree in Mathematics from Missouri Southern State University and Saint Louis University, respectively.

I am currently a stay-at-home-mom to my 3-year-old daughter. Besides spending time with my husband and daughter, I enjoy knitting, crocheting, sewing, reading, and singing.

A friend at grad school invited me to Community Covenant Church.  I fell in love with the accepting, family atmosphere and the love of God shown to me.  I received Christ and later became a member of CCC.

The service I do at CCC is to the honor and glory of God–

  • for the support, growth, and spiritual maturity of our Church body (Eph 4:11-13),
  • for the accomplishment of church administration (1 Corinthians 12:27-28),
  • and because I live to serve Jesus Christ my Lord who has mercifully saved and equipped me (1 Timothy 1:12-17).

Treasurer – Phil Hoden

I was born and raised in Duluth, MN, went to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University down in Daytona Beach, FL, and currently work for Boeing as a Programmer Analyst writing internal web applications. I enjoy all things technical, playing video games, and reading Tom Clancy novels.

I was drawn to Community Covenant from my background in the Covenant Church (my dad is a Covenant pastor).  The Sandwich Ministry, where we make 400 sandwiches for the homeless every month, is one of the ministries that I really enjoy.
